Dear Oh My God fans and members of the independent music community,

Over the years, it's been our pleasure to share the stage many times with the inimitable Oh My God. Iguana/Brian, Bish, Billy and Matt have eaten, slept, lived and breathed their band at home and on the road, and work as hard as any band we've seen in Chicago.

On Friday morning, September 21st, Oh My God - Billy, Ig, Bish and Matt (their touring guitarist, pictured on the right)- were involved in a head-on collision with a car that swerved into their lane at 55 MPH. Thankfully, everyone in the van survived the accident-- albeit with severe injuries.

Billy: Shattered kneecap, three broken ribs, a cracked vertebrae, torn shoulder muscles

Ig: Severely broken and displaced right wrist and three breaks in the right ring finger

Bish: Multiple fractures in left wrist (Bish and ig now have permanent plates and screws in their wrists)

Matt: Badly broken tibia, broken nose, broken thumb

All had to undergo surgery and all are proceeding with long-term physical therapy. Much of their gear, including their van, was totally destroyed. The driver of the offending vehicle was killed in the crash.

Obviously, this catastrophic accident has been devastating to Oh My God, physically, personally and financially. Most of the people involved in the accident are now struggling to make ends meet in the aftermath.

THAT'S WHERE WE COME IN.

One of the great things about underground music is the community that grows up around it-- how fans and musicians alike can directly impact each other's lives. Now, we're sending up a flare to YOU, the fan and the musician alike, to rally around Oh My God in the wake of the accident.

We did this last year when our pals from Austin, TX, Awesome Cool Dudes, had all of their gear stolen. You came through for them and we were able to significantly soften the financial blow.

Obviously, this situation is FAR more serious because of the injuries involved. The effects of the accident will be felt for a long time. Please contribute not only for the band's or the music's sake, but for the health and well-being of the Oh My God members, all of whom are excellent human beings and-- as many of you know-- good friends.
